Partnerships Development Manager
Our Catalyze Program

Catalyze is College Possible's unique near-peer coaching solution, designed to help our higher-ed institutional partners ensure success for students from low-income backgrounds. Our success coaches serve as AmeriCorps members, and are recent college graduates themselves, many from similar backgrounds as the students they support. Coaches provide targeted, proactive support to foster college success by addressing students' common academic, financial and personal barriers. Each coach is physically located at the university, maintains a full-time presence on campus, and engages in the university environment alongside their students, either in person or virtually. College Possible's growth strategy is to increase the number of Catalyze partner institutions by 50% over the next 18 months.
Role Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Partnerships, the Partnerships Manager will be an integral part of our Catalyze team, responsible for creating and building strategic partnerships with mid-sized and large public higher education institutions. This person will develop and nurture leads, listen to customer needs, position Catalyze benefits, and close partnership deals, with the help of internal stakeholders across the organization. We are looking for a business development specialist with demonstrated success growing strategic partnerships in the higher education market.
Essential Job Functions

Build, track, and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads and sales opportunities, including optimizing the lead generation processes and tools in collaboration with our marketing team.
Clearly and convincingly articulate the organization's offerings and value proposition, and resolve objections from potential partners.
Schedule and conduct high caliber meetings and presentations with high level Student Affairs administrators and key decision-makers across campuses.
Create proposals and negotiate terms of each deal, including pricing and length of contract, managing the process from first draft to contract signing.
Collaborate across the organization, including Marketing, Advancement, Finance, and Catalyze Program Advisors to bring the vision of supporting students from low-income backgrounds to fruition.
Build the organization's profile and broaden funding opportunities through engagement of current and prospective funders, college access and success associations, Student Affairs membership organizations, and research organizations.
Employ a customer-focused consultative selling process that identifies customer needs, provides customized solutions and customer insights, and accelerates the sales cycle.

Professional Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)


Bachelor's degree is required

Related Work Experience:

Five plus years of experience in education sales required.
Extensive experience with SalesForce, or another comparable CRM.

Computer/Software Skills:

Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office Suite programs as well as experience in database management.

Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

Passion for and demonstrated commitment to mission and public service;

Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including Directors and Vice Presidents.
Possesses strong understanding of sales metrics, including forecasting, pipeline management, progress towards goals, customer satisfaction and retention/renewals.
Outstanding communication skills, along with the capacity to work with different people across organizational boundaries.
Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and recognized success in closing complex sales with an extended sales cycle.
A high tolerance for ambiguity and change, sound judgment, and a strong results orientation;
The ability to identify and prioritize varied and competing responsibilities;
A strong work ethic and commitment to achieve success at the highest levels of excellence;
A willingness to travel as needed;
Ability to represent College Possible with integrity and excellence;
