GBDM Strategic Planning and Operations Manager (Sr. Manager)
**ROLE SUMMARY**

The Global Biometrics and Data Management (GBDM) Strategic Planning and Operations Manager role will be responsible for working with the GBDM Leadership Team and senior leaders to support the development and execution of strategies to continuously improve the operations of GBDM. This experienced project manager and matrix leader will be accountable to oversee all areas under the purview of GBDM, including the Center for Data Standards & Quality (CDSQ), Data Monitoring and Management (DMM), Statistical Programming and Analysis (SPA) and Statistics as well as the GBDM 5- Year Roadmap. This role will serve as an operational leader ensuring all GBDM cross functional deliverables are achieved on or ahead of schedule, within budget targets, and with quality that meets or exceeds business needs. This role will provide insight into the impact of both internal and external signals that could impact business performance or strategic direction. This role will stay closely connected to key business challenges and opportunities, and ensure that there is alignment with strategic priorities, or make recommendations to priorities when necessary.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ Responsible for performing important project planning activities in support of the GBDM organization and Roadmap. To effectively execute the primary responsibilities, the GBDM Strategic Planning and Operations Manager must possess an advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of project management.

+ Lead the team in the preparation, implementation, maintenance, communication, and management of GBDM strategic planning. Support key strategic imperatives to achieve long term goals.

+ Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals and develop expertise in market dynamics to identify market trends.

+ Develop external relationships that provide perspective of the diverse eco-system outside of Pfizer as it relates to the support and growth of GBDM.

+ Appropriately assess opportunities and guide strategic direction for the future of GBDM.

+ Contribute tothe completion of annual strategic and operating plans, as well as a semi-annual review of GBDM Roadmap Strategy (short/mid/long term projects).

+ Contributes to the continuous improvement of project plans, plan generation, plan utilization, report creation/development processes, and/or systems/process integration.

+ Proactively identifies and manages emerging changes and opportunities, raises operational and program issues and risks, facilitates development of team recommendations and action options, and ensures appropriate escalation to senior leadership

+ Partners with key team members (e.g., GBDM Leadership Team, GBDM Senior Leaders, GBDM Roadmap Project Management Office (PMO), etc.) to manage the GBDM Roadmap and achieve key milestones according to the endorsed strategy and project plan.

+ Accountable for leading GBDM strategy meetings including meeting scheduling, agenda, records, materials, facilitation and communications

+ Influences and collaborates with peers, oversees and guides the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

+ Communicates team roles/responsibilities; helps new team members get up to speed on the project and ensures all team members have access to project information necessary to be successful.

+ Partners and routinely collaborates with GBDM Leadership Team and cross-functional line leadership.

+ Partners with communications lead to develop and manage the communication plan for the project, including stakeholder management plan. Ensures effective, accurate, and timely communication to meet the needs of the asset team and stakeholders.

+ Recommends and implements new processes, approaches, or tools to manage the program and/or team.

+ Leads several workstreams and provides day-to-day oversight of roadmap project teams and colleagueswithvarying levels of experience.

+ Creates an engaging and productive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and excel.

+ Ensures all approved strategic projects have approved budget/costs; works with finance and functional line leads to monitor and manage program activities against the approved budget.

+ Ensures cross-functional alignment of project level goals that contribute to the overall goals of the GBDM and monitors progress against these goals.

+ Contributes to continuous improvement of project plans, plan generation, plan utilization, report creation/development processes, and/or systems/process integration.

+ Responsible for coordinating, monitoring and reporting for roadmap.

**BASICQUALIFICATIONS**

+ BA/BS required. Life sciences degree helpful.

+ Minimum 8+ years of relevant biopharmaceutical experience required, including experience working on strategic initiatives, project planning and project management. Experience in managing cross-functional team dynamics.

+ 3+ years of biopharmaceutical and/or management consulting experience

+ Identifies and assists with the development and implementation of business strategies relating to the development of services and new technologies including use of machine learning, AI technology, etc. across the business.

+ Advanced degree desirable in one of the disciplines relating to drug development or business.

+ Professional PM Certification (Project Management Professional [PMP] or equivalent) desirable.

+ Knowledge of the fundamentals of Project Management and its application to drug development.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, challenging and complex matrix team environment. Track record of performance on cross-functional teams and results through effective implementation of project management methodology, tools, and techniques.

+ Demonstrated project management and leadership, managing workstreams and small teams of cross-functional colleagues with varying backgrounds and skillsets.

+ Understands and has demonstrated ability to manage a budget and has a history of staying on or under budget.

+ Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority.

+ Experience with stakeholder management and demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders without direct authority.

+ Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to tee up the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action.

+ Strong communication, interpersonal skills, meeting facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to represent and communicate clearly to GPD and GBDM Leadership Teams as well as GBDM colleagues.

+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams, identify, resolve & escalate issues.

+ Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

+ Displays flexibility, targeted problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness to drive path forward in ambiguous and constrained circumstances.

+ Ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications

+ Strong command of the English language, both spoken and written.
